    Hub Development  

    To establish and develop 3 DFR Hub teams:
    ·   Community Executive Team (and Community Resource and Activity groups)
    ·   Business Engagement Forum
    ·    Service User Group

    Dementia Cafes To facilitate the establishment of at least one new café with an activity focus to it
    Choirs To facilitate the establishment of at least one new memory choir
    Carers meetings To facilitate the establishment of at least two new regular peer support carers meetings
    Other activities To facilitate the establishment of the development of arts classes; memory gardens, exercise activity and the like.
    Website To plan and deliver a DFR website to host the hub information
    Newsletter To write and issue a series of regular newsletters and issue to the contacts list
    Memory Events Three key event will be organised:
    Memory Walk to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society (September)
    Music Memory Event including jazz and popular music from the 50s and 60s (October)
    Art and Poetry Day (November)

    We will look to inspire people to organise photo exhibitions; visits to sports grounds and re-living sporting events; and other events as people wish to organise.

    Community and local events To organise at least 2 Community Events

    To establish a programme of key Rossendale events and ensure DFR material is available at each

    Friends and Champion Awareness sessions To increase the number of trained Dementia Friends and Champions
    Awareness Campaign  

    To ensure that every business; organisation and special interest group is provided with basic awareness literature
    To devise a system of follow up actions

    Safety Information  


    To introduce and support two new schemes:

    ·        Safe Places
    ·        Dementia Buddies
    To endorse existing schemes that provide methods and processes of safety

    Dementia Awareness Week
    Hosting awareness events across Rossendale

    DVD and awareness information
    To produce a DVD to be used in raising awareness, that can be used in group settings and other community events
    Respite information To provide as much central information on respite care and where this can be provided
    Business Awards An award for a local business that demonstrates improvement in its dementia friendly approach to its operations and customers
